Ben Okri

Man Booker Prize-winning author, Ben Okri, is a bestselling author of eight novels including The Famished Road and Starbook, as well as collections of poetry, short stories and essays.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has been awarded the OBE as well as numerous international prizes, including the Man Booker Prize for The Famished Road, Commonwealth Writers Prize for Africa, the Aga Khan Prize for Fiction and the Chianti Rufino-Antico Fattore. He is a Vice-President of the English Centre of International PEN and was presented with a Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum.

He has appeared live at Pin Drop on several occasions at the Royal Academy of Arts and Burberry.  Okri also presented the Turner Prize in 2016 and appeared at the Barbican for a Special Evening with Ben Okri to coincide with the landmark exhibition, Basquiat: Boom for Real.

Okri has written a new story for Pin Drop’s forthcoming anthology of original short fiction, A Short Affair, published by Simon & Schuster/Scribner in July 2018.
