Pin Drop presents television impressionist and comedian, Alistair McGowan, reading ‘The Necklace’ by Guy de Maupassant and ‘Just Like Little Dogs’ by Dylan Thomas.
Alistair is best known to British audiences for BAFTA award winning The Big Impression which was, for four years, one of BBC1’s top-rating comedy programmes. Alistair has also worked extensively in theatre and has appeared in numerous West End productions – Art, Cabaret, The Mikado, Pygmalion and Little Shop of Horrors (for which he received an Olivier nomination).
He played the lead role in BBC1’s Mayo and appeared as Nico in Driving Aphrodite alongside Nia Vardalos. His writing credits include the play Timing, nominated as ‘Best New Comedy’ at the whatsonstage.com awards, and the book A Matter of Life and Death: Or How to Wean a Man Off Football co-authored with his former comedy partner Ronni Ancona. He also provided voices for the iconic political TV satire series, Spitting Image.
