The Pindrop Short Story Award

One of Pindrop’s aims is to support and discover new writers which has centred on our annual short story award starting in 2015.

The Pindrop Short Story Award, which has partnered with the Royal Academy of Arts for the past four years, is an open-submission and free-to-enter prize.  The judging panel includes Pindrop Founders, Elizabeth Day and Simon Oldfield, and the Royal Academy Art’s Artistic Director, Tim Marlow. We have discovered new and exciting writing talent from across the globe including past winners: Bethan Roberts, Claire Fuller, Cherise Saywell and Sophie Ward,

The Pindrop podcast series, which can be found here, features live readings of the winning stories narrated by Stephen Fry, Juliet Stevenson, Dame Penelope Wilton and Gwendoline Christie.
